Accepting New Clients: It is my belief that therapy is a mutual endeavor in which clients and therapists work together to explore healthy ways of coping with life stressors, environmental influences, and relationships that impact functioning and well being. Having worked in a myriad of settings, I am familiar with the sensitive issues and challenges associated with depression, anxiety, gender identify, substance use and/or traumatic history for both teens and adults. I am an EMDR Clinician with an extensive history of working with clients who have experienced anxiety, loss, trauma, relationship and intimacy issues, and low self-esteem.

I have worked with individuals, couples and groups for the past 30+ years. My interest is in being a catalyst for change - helping people find and lead more fulfilling lives - has not wavered but rather, increased. Life shapes us all. I help adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, anger and their limiting beliefs that keep them stuck, to gain meaning and understanding of their life stories by learning to gain clarity of how life shaped them, to shift their internal beliefs and life so they can live from their essence and experience healing, joy, fulfillment and peace. Relationship difficulties, setbacks at work, or changes in the family can make us feel anxious or depressed. Coping with world events or illness only exacerbates these issues, and we might then feel a lessened sense of control, and even lose sight of our talents and personal goals. Such times challenge us to gain greater self-understanding, as well as more effective strategies for dealing with others. Often we need to map out a new way forward.

For those with alcohol use disorder, I use the principles of evidence-based alcohol sobriety and moderation techniques with or without medication. Clients will learn to moderate their alcohol use to achieve life-long moderation or learn how to achieve sobriety if they choose. For those struggling with substances other than alcohol, I offer CBT, DBT and MI to assist in achieving sobriety. This is your journey and your choices, and my coaching/counseling style is to meet you where you are at, motivate you and help you find long-term solutions for substance abuse.

Trauma and life's challenges disconnect us from ourselves, our support system, and our community. In these times, having someone who is consistent and genuine can make a significant difference in bridging these gaps.
