I am licensed in New York and New Jersey with 30 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, and depression. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I am here to support and empower you in that journey. I have training in psychoanalytic therapy, CBT, hypnotherapy, substance abuse and couples counseling. My approach is goal focused psychodynamic therapy and I am eclectic in nature. I have worked with adults and adolescents.

I built my practice to support clients struggling with OCD, anxiety, grief, and life changes. It can be hard to deal with daily tasks when internally you are in turmoil. I have been in practice since 1967. I have extensive training and experience in psychotherapy with adults and children. I have completed two post doctoral programs in psychotherapy for adults: NYU, Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis; and Hillside Hospital Fellowship Program. I have done psychotherapy with children and adolescents at child agencies and in private practice for over 30 years. I see patients in individual, couples and family psychotherapy.

The Agresta Psychotherapy group has been providing psychotherapeutic services in the Metropolitan area for over thirty years. I, personally, have worked in the mental health profession in various capacities for over 20 years. My specialties include anxiety disorders, relationship counseling, women's issues and family and group therapy. I established a division of APG called Women's Wellness. Women's Wellness specializes in problems commonly associated with women, such as postpartum depression, fertility, adoption and surrogacy, women's cancers, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, parenting skills and couples issues.

I am dual licensed as both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) and work with adults, adolescents and couples. I am experienced counseling individuals with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, interpersonal issues including personality disorders, relationship issues and social phobias. Among those I serve are individuals also affected by chemical addiction. I've worked with individuals, spouses, parents and Adult Children of Alcoholics/Addicts (ALCOA) who wish to recover from their direct or indirect experiences with addiction. I also work with people with a history of physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse.

I subscribe to the belief that the unexamined life is not conducive to living your best life. I am a psychodynamic, eclectic and holistic psychotherapist working with adults, adolescents and couples whom experience symptoms of depression, anxiety or interpersonal conflict, and often those working through deep existential crisis. With my guidance and empathetic stance, I will help you explore and challenge old beliefs and current behaviors so that you may gain insight and deep understanding into how some past events, (even those which are seemingly insignificant) are having an effect on your current functioning.

I work with individuals and couples of all ages, backgrounds, and sexual orientations, treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief/loss, eating disorders, couples in crisis, professional dilemmas, parenting issues and more. I also specialize in coping with pain, fatigue, insomnia, and chronic illness including chronic fatigue, autoimmune disease, and fibromyalgia.
