I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in New Jersey, Florida and United Kingdom, with over 15 years of experience working with adults, children, and couples. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, ADHD, stress, infertility and relationship issues.

You might look like you're holding it together, but anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or OCD rituals are running the show — or a past experience, like a difficult birth or loss, keeps resurfacing. I help children, teens, and adults who are done white-knuckling through life using approaches proven to work: EMDR for trauma, ERP and I-CBT for OCD, CBT and somatic strategies for anxiety, plus specialized perinatal care (PMH-C certified). Therapy here is warm and collaborative — we move at your pace, but we don't just nod along. In-person in Allendale and Oradell; telehealth across NJ and PA

If you are feeling anxious, depressed, having difficulty coping with grief and loss. Maybe you are trying to learn about yourself more and the challenges of life. There are many challenges we face in the world. Sometimes just feeling better is the goal.

Anxiety is part of being human, but drowning in it shouldn't be. Jon Kabat-Zinn once said "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf". It seems to be one thing after another leaving you more anxious than you already were. The overwhelming feeling of being stuck with no way out. The fear of the next panic attack. The next new thing making your heart race a million miles an hour. How do you even begin to process it all? Many times we have the tools already in our tool box but may not be aware they are there or how to utilize them. Let me work alongside you to find and strengthen your coping skills.

I use a collaborative and compassionate approach, combining motivational interviewing, CBT, ACT, and DBT to help you build skills, reduce distress, and achieve your goals.
My journey into the field began as a teenager in therapy, igniting a passion for helping others. A pivotal moment came while working as a summer camp music teacher when a young camper in crisis climbed to the roof, threatening to jump. Talking him down safely transformed my perspective: I realized that people need tools to navigate life’s challenges even more than they need to learn new skills like playing the trumpet. That experience redirected my path toward psychology and, ultimately, social work, where I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals find hope and healing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
