NISD Counseling is a non-profit counseling & training center providing affordable individual, couples, family, and group therapy services. Our clients come from all walks of life, some are new to therapy while many are familiar with therapy but want to try a different approach where their strengths and values will be centered. We provide a confidential space to discuss challenges as well as opportunities.
Additionally, we train new marriage & family therapists through CA state licensure and provide professional development workshops based on Narrative Therapy.
Some of the issues that can be discussed in therapy include: depression, anxiety, stress, health conditions, relationships, gender identity, pregnancy and abortion, work challenges, eating issues, body image, parent-child concerns, trauma, grief and loss, major life transitions as well as hopes and aspirations for the future.
We offer private pay fees starting as low as $40 with our graduate students. More senior clinicians offer a sliding scale for all income levels. Additionally, we now accept select insurance plans (Aetna, Anthem, Cigna/Evernorth, United Healthcare / OPTUM) and can assist you with using your out-of-network benefits if you have a different PPO plan.
