Nilda Perez's Groups
Divorce/Relationship Breakup
In this group we discuss the grief involved as a natural reaction to loss. A breakup, separation or divorce of a love relationship involves multiple losses: Loss of companionship and shared experiences; Loss of support (financial, intellectual, social, emotional); Loss of hopes, plans, and dreams. When one allows oneself to feel the pain of these losses it can be fearful. A divorce or breakup can often produce emotions that feel too intense to bear. The pain of grief is the process that you need to go through to let go of the old relationship and move on. this group focuses on going through the process.
Grief Therapy
This group is to allow members to go through the stages of grief and the feelings of guilt, anger, despair, and fear which are common. Because there is no time table or certain way to grieve group therapy helps those grieving to listen and participate when they are ready. The bereaved need reassurance that what he or she feels is normal.
