My name is Nikyra James. I am a Licensed (Independent) Clinical Social Worker. I have over ten years of experience providing care across the lifespan. It is important to know that I seek to develop genuine, caring relationships with my clients as I believe that feeling cared about is an important component of feeling safe in a therapeutic space. I lead with honesty, transparency, and occasionally humor and I invite my clients to do the same, please bring your full self to therapy. I have a passion for helping people of color and supporting individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, identity, stress.
In our first session, I will review information from your intake forms, confirm your goals for treatment and what is important to you in a therapeutic relationship with your therapist, and begin establishing rapport. My goal is to get to know you better and allow you to get a feel for my clinical style.
I have worked with a wide range of people, some who want to be in therapy, some who don’t, some who are apprehensive until they realize the fit is right. This helps me be a successful clinician because I am able to connect with a wide range of people and provide quality care that resonates with their lived experience, meeting my clients where they are at.
