I am an art therapist, helping clients of all ages to create new ways of being in the world, build skills and well-being, and write stories of healing using art processes and materials. My clients are often curious, sometimes stuck, and looking for an authentic empathetic connection. I work with adults and kids with histories of trauma, mood disorders, difficult life transitions, grief/loss, physical/developmental disabilities, speech disorders, and/or parenting issues. I specialize in children ages five and up, using child-led play strategies in addition to art-making to help kids process feelings and regulate their bodies.
Art therapy is not just for artists, art skill or experience is not necessary, and art-making isn't the only thing we will do. We'll have conversations, explore materials, listen to the body, follow inner wisdom, build on strengths, practice mindfulness, gain coping skills, and in all those ways, create a little movement in your life.
My passion for this work is rooted in my lived experience making art and meaning out of childhood trauma. With a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling and Art Therapy, I am honored to hold safe creative space for others to be curious, make messes, and build hope.
