I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a concentration in Addiction Counseling. I have experience working with individuals dealing with mental health issues, substance misuse disorders, and individuals experiencing trauma symptoms. I have also worked with couples facing relationship challenges and adolescents going through significant life changes. My goal in working with each client is to ensure the client is comfortable and confident enough to make effective decisions regarding the direction and outcome of their own treatment.
I use a multimodal approach to therapy, which allows me to meet clients where they are and address their needs on an individualized basis. However, I specialize in person-centered, motivational interviewing, and CBT approaches to treatment. I also have experience in using mindfulness based techniques to treat clients dealing with traumatic life experiences.
I understand counseling can be a difficult journey. Therefore, it is important that a positive therapeutic relationship is created, and clients are comfortable enough to feel my office is a safe space, affording them the ability to open up and discuss difficult topics.
