I aim to provide an open and safe environment to address various issues that may arise in one’s life. My specialty population is couples and families, as I have personally experienced the effects of coming from a broken home, as well as surviving a chaotic family environment. I have 17 years of experience working with children and over 12 years of experience working with adults who are severely mentally ill and dually diagnosed. I find joy in helping others navigate through the roller coaster ride, and detours that life sometimes throws at us.
My clinical experience has been formed from working as a counselor in therapeutic day treatment programs, mental health skill building, intensive in-home counseling, crisis intervention, and case management. Additionally, I am a qualified mental health professional for both adults and children, and I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist resident.
I use a variety of methods to help assist clients, to include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play therapy techniques, and person-centered psychotherapy. I graduated in 2003 earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Virginia State University and received a Master’s of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in 2019.
