My ideal client is someone who is unable to cope with the impact of their intrusive thoughts. Anxiety can be extremely debilitating and stressful. Someone with anxiety struggles with the possibility that the intrusive thoughts could possibly hold truth. Needs of a client struggling with this would include positive coping skills, increased self esteem, and maintaining stability dealing with anxiety and intrusive thoughts.
I use a mix of of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for clients dealing with anxiety, self esteem issues, and interpersonal conflicts and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) to help clients diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. My therapeutic approach is very personable and friendly. I want all of my clients to feel comfortable in treatment.
Intrusive thoughts can feel strong. They can feel like the truth. They can win sometimes. You do not have to let them win. With my help, we can reach a place together where you feel comfortable acknowledging the thoughts in your mind and not using them to negatively label your life. I want to help you create a positive narrative to your life!
