Finding the right counselor can be a difficult task. Therapists are a lot like shoes, there are so many to choose from. Some will fit you and some won’t, but once you find the pair that fits just right, then you can run faster than ever before. That is why it is helpful to use the first few sessions to “try on” the therapeutic fit with a new counselor and see how it feels. In my office, the first few sessions I focus on trying to understand more of your story and where you’re at, then to assess together how therapy can be most helpful so we make sure you’re getting what you’re looking for out of therapy.

I have a lot of experience helping those that suffer from various difficulties in their lives such as anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, eating disorders, infidelity issues, strained relationships, addictions (sex and alcohol), and difficulty finding hope. I am trained in a few different trauma focused modalities including EMDR and IFS.

Making the first step towards change can at times, be the most difficult step. I would be honored to assist you in your journey and walk that road with you till we get to a place where you feel confident in your ability to “walk or run” that road by yourself. My personal preference is to treat the root of what is causing symptoms. So I like to use therapy methods that are going to help us reach those roots and reprocess them. A few of my favorite ones to use are IFS and EMDR, which are proven effective to treat the most intense traumas or the seemingly "nothing" negative core beliefs.
