My approach to therapy is empathic and non-judgemental. I work toward helping a person feel safe to say everything and believe that therapy heals largely through the power of the therapeutic relationship. Therapy provides valuable insight into ourselves. When we become conscious of who we are and what we are feeling and thinking we are able to make better choices and lead happier more productive lives.
I am an eclectic therapist and use different modalities of treatment depending on the individual. These include a psychodynamic approach as well as cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal. I enjoy doing therapy immensely and obtain great satisfaction in my profession by helping people to succeed in their aspirations and personal growth.
I began my private practice in 2002 after working at The Washington Square Institute in NYC for four years. I was also the school counselor at Cooper Union College for four years. My post graduate analytic training focused primarily on anxiety, depression and the treatment of personality disorders using a modern analytic approach.
