I view therapy as a collaborative relationship. By providing a respectful, judgment-free atmosphere, I hope you will feel comfortable sharing the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are concerning to you. Through this cooperative and supportive process, my goal is that you will better understand and have compassion for yourself. It is my privilege to work with couples, individuals, families and clients in nontraditional relationships to help navigate life's challenges. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy and I use a variety of techniques from biological, psychosocial, sexual and spiritual perspectives.
I'm influenced by strengths-based systemic theories like Narrative (which considers how you see yourself in the world, and explores your beliefs) and EFT (in which your attachments and emotions are the focus). I also use the Prepare/Enrich assessment for premarital couples where we explore strengths and opportunities for growth in your relationship.
I am an AASECT certified sex therapist. I believe therapy is a place for you to be heard without judgment, and to consider your challenges and focus on growth. It's an opportunity to examine your beliefs and goals and determine whether some of the stories you tell yourself need updating. I always feel privileged to be your partner in this process.
