My name is Nicole Ramirez, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in CA and in NM since 2018. I graduated from San Jose State University with my MSW degree. I am a California native and identify as a queer Latina woman. I am certified in DBT, TFCBT and CBT. I use motivational interviewing tools and I specialize crisis management services, LGBTQ-QIPA community and helping families understand and accept their loved ones. I have experience working in medical and psychiatric hospitals, community centers and nonprofit/grassroots organizations.
My personality influences the approaches I use, such as humor and mindfulness skills. I tend to use a more solution focused approached, feminist theory therapy along with using storytelling/narrative therapy to help clients see that the sessions; is their time to tell their story. I have experiencing treating PTSD, Depression, Anxiety and Psychotic disorders
My life philosophy is all about peace, love and happiness. I feel that I bring those characteristics to the table when I work with anyone. A key component within the therapeutic relationship is for the client and me to be openminded and nonjudgmental. I think that my own insight to life and hard times has helped me be a better mental health professional.
