I typically treat patients with long-standing difficulties in their life who have usually made numerous attempts to resolve internal distress and conflict in relationships with varying degrees of success. The type of therapy I offer is intensive and seeks to provide the patient with the tools to understand their pattern of behavior, decrease emotional distress, manage conflict, and adopt realistic expectations for themselves and others.
I believe that the number one curative factor in psychotherapy is the relationship between the therapist and the patient. My role is to be mindful of the patient's tolerance for distress so as to keep therapy moving forward while not creating an intolerable amount of pain.
My graduate work included psychodynamic and neuropsychological training. I am a certified EMDR Therapist, a Certified HeartMath practitioner, and have received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Polyvagal Theory.
