Nicole (she/her) received her undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology with a minor in social work from Elmhurst College. She then received her masters degree in social work at the Jane Addams School of Social Work at UIC. She has worked in the domestic violence field for over ten years and currently works in private practice using her clinical skills to help couples maintain healthy relationships. Using knowledge and experience from the earlier part of her career, Nicole currently provides tools to help partners navigate conflict, rebuild trust, grow intimacy and connection, and prevent unhealthy patterns from taking root.
Nicole also has experience working with trauma and the LGBTQ+ community. She has worked with issues ranging from anxiety and depression to PTSD. She views her role as a therapist to help you acknowledge your strengths, achieve your goals, and uses an empowerment model to focus on what you want to learn from therapy.
Nicole's favorite part of being a therapist is watching that "lightbulb" moment for a client when they understand why their brain is acting the way it is. She sees couples and individuals as clients, and she uses a strengths-based approach. She really enjoys helping folks figure out how to enhance the skills that they've been using to make it this far.
