Nicole provides individual and couples therapy to law enforcement, military, first responders, and families who are ready to address the unique challenges and impact of the responder profession on their lives and relationships. With over 25 years of working in law enforcement in (patrol, undercover, and also as a Sergeant), Nicole is deeply aware of police-related issues such as administrative betrayal, the weight of daily calls, and stigma around seeking mental health. Nicole offers empathy and compassion, while also being direct to help clients stay true to themselves and the process.
Nicole believes a therapist's role is to create a safe, supportive environment while maintaining a balance of empathy and a direct, no-nonsense approach which could also include humor. Nicole listens closely, challenges clients to stay true to the process, and ensures they are actively engaged in their own healing.
Nicole believes in leveraging existing strengths while learning new coping strategies, particularly for those grappling with the effects of trauma. She follows CBT, CPT, Solution-Focused, and humanistic approaches of therapy. She assists clients in finding a renewed sense of purpose, even if that purpose starts with simply getting out of bed each day.
