Parenting can be difficult. Children have their own personalities, ways of thinking, big feelings and struggle with healthy coping strategies. Children and adolescents often do not know how to communicate their thoughts and feelings and often act out in frustration. Youth are experiencing anxiety, self-doubt, low self confidence, social anxiety, stress, depression, and struggle with focusing. These can become negative self talk and can impact their families. Areas of special interest for me include working with youth and their families to help them flourish. I provide therapy and psychological evaluations.
Therapy is not one-size fits all. My focus in therapy is building the relationship through trust and empathy to make progress towards goals. I work from a collaborative approach setting goals that are aimed at making the changes to help your youth and family optimize their functioning. We aim to identify and cope with emotions while supporting the family.
Areas of special focus for me include supporting those with Autism Spectrum disorder, Anxiety, ADHD, and family work. I provide psychological testing for individuals all ages and therapy, focusing on children, adolescents and families. I use play therapy, sand tray strategies, mindfulness, child center therapy, and parenting and family strategies.
