My educational training is as a generalist, which provides me the skills to implement many different evidence based interventions and treat most issues that bring people to therapy. My expertise is in working with adults who have experienced trauma, particularly interpersonal abuse such as sexual abuse/assault, relationship abuse, etc.
Due to my many years of experience working with individuals who have experienced interpersonal traumas, I know how important expertise and training is in providing competent care. It is crucial that therapists understand trauma, the dynamics of abuse, legal issues, and resources available. The most well-meaning therapist can cause harm through ignorance.

Groups
Survivor's Therapy Group
This is a therapeutic group for survivors of interpersonal trauma such as childhood abuse, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. It is facilitated by Dr. Nicole Holmes and is a process oriented group. This is an open group, so new members may be added whenever there is open space. Members must be screened before joining the group. Group is free to clients receiving individual therapy services at Lotus Counseling and is $30 a group for others. We meet virtually all but one week a month. We meet in person on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
