My philosophy and approach to counseling is to enable people to grow in the direction they choose, to solve problems and face crises. Counseling includes building a relationship through trust, and respect and to facilitate positive action. I will assist in helping facilitate positive action toward your goals. I will assist you in creating awareness, insight understanding, change in thoughts and self-perceptions. I'm a Approved Clinical Supervisor with clinical experience with Trauma Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other behavior health management interventions. My Specialty is Trauma Informed Care. I use a Bio-psychosocial counseling approach of the mind, body and spirit in working with the total individual. We will also explore intergenerational patterns.
Overall, counseling is a process in which I support you in gaining useful knowledge and tools that will facilitate continued growth and development after therapy has ended. I will challenge you in a caring and empathetic manner to look at yourself and seek alternative options and strategies for handling life. And I will be there to support you along the way.
