Life is not black & white, the beauty is in the grey. I believe that everybody deserves support in their journey toward meaning and connection. The absence of support, meaning, purpose, or connection can lead to disorder and dysfunction. It is my privilege as a therapist to watch others explore and create a full life. My work focuses on the unique struggles of the individual, couple, or family. I use story, feedback, empathy, and education to help each client discover balance and their authentic self. My hope is that each person I get to work with learns the tools that work for them and can embrace the grey areas in life.
As a specialist in eating disorders. I conceptualize these disorders as being rooted in relational/attachment issues and focus on the function that underlies the behaviors. I help clients navigate and create more adaptive ways of being and relating to the world in order to develop a better relationship with themselves.
I also offer a nonjudgmental approach to clients exploring their sexuality or struggling with sexual concerns. Sex is salient in our society but rarely discussed. Even less is the intersection of eating disorders and struggles with sexuality. I work to help increase comfortability in both realms in order to create a balance in mind, body, spirit, and heart.
