In therapy I work collaboratively with clients, offering support and guidance in resolving their concerns. We work together to improve ways of coping, increase self-acceptance, and raise awareness of the impact of their thoughts and feelings. My intention is to empower clients to increase health in their relationships, overcome barriers, and reconnect with their goals for the future. First and foremost we work together to establish an open and engaging relationship, and the environment of safety and trust that is essential for exploring challenging issues, thoughts and feelings.
In my counseling practice I work individually with adults over the age of 18. Some of the areas in which I have particular expertise, interest and clinical training include: mindfulness and NeuroMeditation, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and stress management, assertiveness and self-acceptance, life transitions and cultural adjustment.
I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho, Africa and have done extensive traveling. Because of this I have a particular interest in working with people from diverse cultures and around issues of cultural adjustment.
