Nicole A. Schaffer is not currently accepting new clients.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I work with a broad spectrum of clients including those with depression and anxiety disorders. I see individuals who struggle with interpersonal difficulties (i.e. relationship/intimacy issues) as well as those who suffer from intrapersonal problems related to their self-esteem, coping with major life transitions and managing stress. My clients care about their overall health and well-being in addition to seeking out the most effective solutions to their problems. Our work together is interactive and collaborative while I maintain a non-judgmental attitude.
My specialty is cognitive behavior therapy, including an expertise in the third-wave cognitive therapies (mindfulness-based therapies, ACT & positive psychology). My clinical and academic background enables me to provide an individualized approach to treatment, while my compassion and humor are essential components as well.
After years of working with many people from all different walks of life, I have the utmost respect for the resilience of the human spirit. I consider it an honor to be allowed to stand witness to people's personal stories.
