I have worked as a social worker for the last twenty years, and have practiced in a variety of settings -community mental health, hospice care, mental health peer to peer support environments, college campus and in social movement spaces. My work throughout has been with people experiencing low mood, intense emotional states, anxiety, chronic health issues, grief and loss, and identity exploration in a wide variety of circumstances and situations. I have experience working with a broad range of people, but in particular within the LGBTQIA+ community, with people with chronic conditions or disability, and people grappling with loss.
While individual therapy is not a substitute for healthy relationships, strong ecosystems and supportive communities, it is a place in our disjointed society for people to connect, be vulnerable and held with compassion and gentle accountability.
I believe healing grows in relationship with others and I work to co-create a space to explore distress, hopes and dreams from a variety of perspectives. Whether its the external systems we are affected by, or the patterns, thoughts and feelings that arise, I hope to co-create a space where we can recognize struggles and celebrate joys.
