I am a PEERS (R) Certified Adolescent and Telehealth Provider who facilitates individual and group evidence-based social and relational skills training for adolescents and adults in the autism spectrum or with related developmental and learning challenges. PEERS (R), which stands for the Program for the Evaluation and Enrichment of Relational Skills, was developed at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, and is the only evidence-based skills training program of its kind. It's intended specifically for use with neurodiverse populations. I provide PEERS (R) training virtually.
PEERS (R) is an evidence-based, structured 14-week program to help individuals develop social skills and navigate the world of other people. Topics covered include conversational skills, making friends, electronic communication, the appropriate use of humor, planning get-togethers, handling disagreements and rejection, and developing good sportspersonship.
I have significant experience with adolescents and emerging (young) adults on the autism spectrum as a mental health clinician and an educator. This program is a worthwhile investment in your child or loved one's entire life, and truly is effective. It will require us to work hard as a team, and I will always be up front with you about the process.
