Over time, we all develop stories and ideas about ourselves, others, or the world. Even if these stories were meant to, and probably did, protect us at some time, they're still exhausting to deal with and can lead to lots of worrying and stress, avoidance, numbing, or difficulty in our relationships. I specialize in working with people who struggle with anxiety, shame, responses to trauma, and identity-related exploration. My approach lifts up your own personal strengths, wisdom, and goals, explores the impact of oppressive systems on personal suffering, and is supplemented with training in EMDR, ACT, and narrative therapy; laughter and tears included.
I will offer a gentle, encouraging, and hopeful space. Together we’ll develop a relationship that feels safe enough for you to address what’s ailing you. I’ll integrate the knowledge I have based on what has been shown to be most helpful to address your concerns, while relying on your own expertise and experience to guide the process.
