Did you recently get your child assessed for ADHD/Autism, and start to think "wait, all these things describe me, too?" Maybe you feel like those labels don't quite fit, but you've always felt "different?" I'm looking for adults (or older teens) who are just figuring out that they are neurodivergent, and would like some help navigating that (and all the change that comes with it). Together we can learn to understand your brain and how it works, to forgive yourself for not meeting every expectation of a neurotypical world, and to love (or at least accept) your unique self.
I approach my work from a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming foundation. This means that I believe our brains are not ill or broken, but our wiring is fundamentally different. I specialize in ADHD/Autism, but I am equally experienced working with most anxiety disorders, and I was trained as a generalist.
As a queer, Chicano, AuDHD person, I understand the pain and trauma of struggling in ways that others cannot see or understand – of blaming myself for failing to do what others seemed to do so naturally and easily. I'm very open about my identities, and I like to share my experiences if and when that is helpful for you.
