About
Utilizing systemic principles and effective methodology, I work with clients of all backgrounds, sexualities, genders, and relationship dynamics. Clients come to me to work on sexual and/or sociosexual concerns, including low desire, infidelity, lack of partnership skills, poor impulsivity control, coming out, inner shame, exploring new dynamics and/or kinks, and also for vaginal pain and erectile dysfunction.
Sexual Behavior Analysis (SBA) is an evidence-based and humanistic approach in which empirically-sound best practices from Sex Therapy, Sexuality Education, and Couple's Work are combined and presented within the simple, effective, and practical framework of Behavior Analysis (BA). I am trained in each of these fields and am licensed as an LBA.
You're a human being, regardless of your circumstances or background, and you deserve a therapist who recognizes this fact; however, your circumstances and background have shaped your reality, and I know better than to assume I know what you're going through. What I can offer is hope, a strong and structured approach guided by your needs and strengths.

Nicholas Maio-Aether's Groups
POZitive - St Louis' HIV+ Support & Meetup Group
POZitive meets biweekly on Facebook Messenger chat 5-6PM on Sundays. We are a sex-positive and adult HIV group, where sexuality-focused discussion and games are at the center of many meetings. This allows us to "bring back the sexy" and reclaim our sexual selves after our diagnoses -- we are still able to have fun and to feel sexy, regardless of status. We also host meetups, such as to the Zoo, the local museums, and cafes. Email me (nicholas.maio@empoweredcenter.com) for information.
