I've been practicing psychotherapy for 11 years and find that goal-setting and open communication create the warmest therapeutic environments for successful clients! My therapeutic style overall is to provide unconditional positive regard to clients seeking professional support. Solutions-focused, CBT, person-centered, psychodynamic, ACT, and existential are a few common theoretical approaches I practiced to achieve this. Typically, solutions-focused work is completed with adults diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and grief.
During sessions, the aim is to create a relaxed therapeutic environment with some structure so the client can feel motivated to achieve goals at their rate. I've always been a good listener! I appreciate being able to help provide emotional support and relief to those experiencing mental anguish. What drives me to do the work is a love of personal growth.
Goal setting begins during the intake assessment and continues throughout the therapeutic journey. Clients are often prompted to write and verbalize their goals for treatment.
