My approach to treatment is integrative, with a strong foundation in psychodynamic therapy.
Do you feel weighed down by stress, anxiety, or depression? At different points in our lives, many of us find ourselves overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. You don’t have to navigate those moments alone.

We’ll start with your goals and concerns, then move toward deeper insight using a psychodynamic approach.
Do you feel stuck or held back by patterns you can’t fully explain? I work with individuals to explore both conscious and unconscious dynamics that shape relationships, self-worth, and life choices. In therapy, you’ll have a supportive space to reflect, deepen self-understanding, and uncover the roots of long-standing struggles. Together, we’ll work to shift patterns that no longer serve you. If you're ready to understand yourself more fully and move toward lasting change, I invite you to reach out.

Do you feel worry, restless, or overwhelm? Do you have a critical voice that's really harsh, wanting you to be perfect or to please others? Have you noticed yourself feeling hopeless, not good enough, or stuck? Do you have behaviors that you can't seem to overcome or change no matter how hard you try? My clients learn how to separate from the parts of them that takeover, understand their thoughts and impulses, allow their true self to take the lead, and access curiosity, calm, clarity, and courage. That being said, I’m a very casual therapist who provides a human experience. Let's be human together!

You're pregnant or recently had a baby, and something feels off. Maybe you're more anxious than you expected, or you're having scary thoughts you feel ashamed to say out loud. Maybe you're grieving a pregnancy loss while everyone else has moved on, or you feel disconnected from your baby and not like yourself. You might be struggling after a difficult birth, overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts, or simply exhausted and wondering if this is what motherhood is supposed to feel like. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to keep carrying this alone.

My approach is psychodynamic, helping you understand the deeper emotional patterns behind your behaviors.
You may find yourself stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break—whether it’s substance use, sex, pornography, food, or cycles of anxiety, overthinking, and avoidance. Even when things look stable on the outside, these patterns can leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or out of control. I work with individuals and couples to understand what’s driving these experiences, including relationship anxiety, and how to create lasting change.

Many couples come to therapy feeling stuck in painful cycles of conflict or growing distance. I help partners slow these cycles so both people can feel heard and understand what’s happening between them. It’s common for one partner to feel more ready than the other. My role is not to take sides, but to help both understand the pattern between them. I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, trauma and questions about direction or meaning. Together, we look beneath the surface and find a clearer way forward that feels manageable and grounded.

For over 45 years, as both a fertility psychologist and OB/GYN with a strong interest in infertility, I have loved helping people on their fertility journey. Are you on a fertility journey? Have you experienced obstacles along the way? Perhaps nothing is as disempowering as struggling with fertility. For many of us, issues with fertility mark the first time that we've wanted our bodies to do something that they seem not capable of doing. Challenges with fertility are traumatic experiences. Is it any wonder why we may be struggling?

I work with highly responsible adults who are coming out of long periods of stress—emotionally hard relationships, caregiving, demanding careers—and realizing they’re completely depleted. Maybe your life looks ‘fine’ from the outside, but inside you feel flat, trapped, or like you only have energy to collapse on the couch. You may experience anxiety, depression, or other health challenges, and want more than symptom relief; you want to rebuild a life that may include meaningful work, a livable home, a stronger body, a sense of peace and safety, and real joy again.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
