I work with adults, families, couples, those in separation and divorce, parents/co-parents, and non traditional and adoptive families.
We always have a choice! Much is beyond our control, but we choose how we respond to life and where we place our energy and attention. I am lucky to have worked for over 20 years with women and men who choose to live intentionally. In this process, many explore their attachment and relational styles and move towards authenticity in all relationships. Some of those I work with have generational dysfunction or trauma, and been affected by another’s addiction or abuse. Some have been affected by a close person with a personality disorder, including those with narcissistic traits. I work with many with co-dependent patterns.

You've been showing up for everyone else, but inside, it feels like you are falling apart. You're carrying stress, pressure, and frustration without a clear way forward. It's starting to impact your work, your relationships, and how you see yourself. Most men don't want endless talking. What they do want is clarity, direction and real change. That's where we start.

I also provide Discernment Counseling for couples considering separation or divorce.
Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, self-doubt, or past experiences keep you from showing up fully — at work, in relationships, or for yourself. You might avoid asking for help for fear of being a burden, or feel stuck in cycles of worry and overthinking. In your relationship, you may be struggling to communicate or to feel truly connected. If this sounds familiar, therapy can be a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you build a path to move forward.

Many of the individuals and couples I work with feel stuck - whether in their relationships, within their family dynamics, past traumas, or difficult emotional patterns like depression or anxiety. Some feel disconnected from their sense of identity or purpose, or are navigating a major life transition. They know something needs to change but aren’t quite sure how to begin. My practice is grounded in exploring these experiences with curiosity and compassion. Together, we take a closer look at what's contributing to these challenges and begin to build a path toward clarity and self-understanding.

I love my work and am in awe of the adults and adolescents I work with who courageously address the hurts in their life that prevent them from living more fully. It maybe a crisis in a relationship, ongoing anxiety or depression, a painful trauma, or an inner sense that things are just not right. Together we pay attention to these feelings, enabling them to be talked about, more fully experienced and then understood. This transformative process can restore joy and resilience in life, as well as improve the capacity to care about oneself and be in relationship with others.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
