“I am currently accepting new clients, however, it is important to note that I do not have any afterschool, evening or weekend appointments available." I'm a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who has been in the mental health field for 25 years. For most of my career I've focused on working with children, adolescents and families offering them support and guidance, but I also enjoy working with adults. My approach is to meet clients where they're at and work together on reaching the goals that are identified.

None of this is easy. Maybe you're adjusting to a change, like parenting or job loss, and looking to find your identity. Maybe you're becoming aware of a problematic pattern in your life, like constant anxiety, difficulty with relationships, or intense emotions. You don't have to feel overwhelmed by depression, anxiety, shame, or anger any more. Let's talk about it and find some strategies to soothe it now, and stop it from reoccurring. If you're reluctant about therapy, I can reassure you that I'm not here to judge, and want to make it a safe and fun environment.

I specialize in perinatal mental health, specifically around issues of infertility, surrogacy and adoption.
Starting a family is not always as easy as expected. There are many ups and downs along the way, which can leave you feeling hopeless, sad and even angry at times. You do not have to go through this alone. I have been working with clients who are trying to conceive and/or start a family for 20+ years. I also had my own struggles, which has given me insight into the medical procedures, the insurance hassles and all the other hoops that need to be jumped through just to become a parent. Let me help you regain your hope and support you through this journey. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Becoming a parent is one of the hardest roles to take on. Many moms never expect to feel anxious or sad after giving birth and blame themselves for having those very real feelings. Give yourself some grace; your whole world and all your relationships change when you have a baby. Even parenting older children can be challenging. I have over 20+ years helping moms feel better about themselves, their role as caregiver and finding ways to feel happy and secure again.

I enjoy working with high school students, young adults, postpartum, grief and loss, and men's issues.
I have immediate openings between 11am and 3pm. I have over 14 years of experience in the mental health field. When you make the first step in finding a therapist for the first time, or have tried therapy in the past, it can be overwhelming and stressful. Therapy is a place to bring all the mental stressors and worries, to begin to work through them and find ways to help you be the version of yourself you want to be. If you want to stop feelings down, anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed therapy is a good place to start. I have worked with many people to help achieve an inner calm and peace they desire to have.

Gaining insight and having a deeper understanding of how our biological, psychological, and sociological makeup impacts how and why we operate the way we do, can provide growth and change in many different areas of life. Learning how to identify where our thoughts, beliefs, feelings/emotions, perceptions and patterns come from initiates the ability to significantly increase the quality to your everyday life.

I also support individuals facing reproductive distress ( pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, menopause), as well as couples, first responders, and veterans, using personalized, compassionate approaches.
At times, life can feel like standing on the edge of a cliff, carrying the weight of expectations, past pain, and the pressure to keep up. For many, that weight shows up as anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, or a quiet sense of hopelessness that feels impossible to escape. My approach to therapy is about stepping back from that edge and finding solid ground on your terms. Therapy isn’t only about symptom relief- it’s about understanding your story, making sense of what’s shaped you, and building the tools to write your next chapter with clarity and confidence, together.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
