I work with high-functioning adults who often appear to "have it all together" but privately struggle with anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, boundaries, and relationship challenges. Many clients find themselves stuck in unhealthy patterns, feeling responsible for others' emotions, or struggling to advocate for their own needs. These difficulties are often connected to attachment wounds, self-worth, and life transitions. Together, we work to build insight, healthier coping skills, and lasting change.

Therapy is a collaboration between me and you, where we both participate in helping you feel better. It is not a quick process, but I am dedicated to putting in the time and effort you deserve. I became a therapist because I believe there is always hope in difficult situations. There are many different things that can make life hard; addiction, divorce, death, trauma, relationships, loss, mental illness, parenting a teen, simply being a teenager. My specialties are working with teenagers, adults, and people affected by addiction as well as anxiety and depression. I also help parents develop skills to support their teen.

You may be holding things together on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck internally. Many people seek therapy when managing work, school, relationships, or day-to-day responsibilities alongside racing thoughts, self-doubt, a sense of always feeling “on,” and mental exhaustion. Over time, this can lead to a desire for change and uncertainty about where to begin.

I believe we all find ourselves struggling at times in our lives and it’s helpful to be seen, heard and understood during these times. It is also my belief, in our current fast-paced society, that we are often conflicted with competing values and expectations, which tends to exacerbate our anxiety, sadness and frustration. In my practice with adolescents and adults, I have been privileged to witness amazing courage and vulnerability, as those who are in pain seek to better understand themselves and ultimately take better care of themselves. Although we cannot control many of the problems we face, or trauma we have endured,

You may feel weighed down by stress, trauma, or patterns that keep pulling you back. Perhaps you’ve tried to push through, or even spent time in traditional therapy, but still feel stuck. My clients often come to me when they’re tired of circling the same struggles and are ready for something different. They want more than just space to talk — they want clear direction, practical tools, and evidence-based strategies that help them see progress in daily life. Most importantly, they want to feel empowered, safe, supported, and capable of moving forward with greater balance, resilience, and self-connection.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
