I draw on evidence-based methods including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-focused approaches, but more importantly, I show up to every session present, direct, and genuinely invested in your progress.
If you've been struggling with patterns of behavior that feel impossible to break, you don't need someone to tell you what's wrong, you need someone to help you figure out what's getting in the way and build something better. That's what I do at Behavioral Efficiency PLLC. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with 8 years of experience helping individuals move through some of the hardest chapters of their lives. My approach isn't about fitting you into a framework, it's about understanding how your mind works, what's driving your patterns, and what genuine, lasting change actually looks like for you.

Sometimes life just feels heavy. No matter how hard we try, stress, overwhelm, and feelings of inadequacy can take over. You may find yourself shutting down under the weight of expectations—trying to juggle work, home, school, relationships, or the things that once brought you joy. The cycle can feel endless, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. Healing is possible. You can find yourself again, regain balance, and feel in control of your life. You don’t have to suffer in silence or carry the weight alone.

I view therapy as a whole-person journey—one that honors the unity of mind, body, and spirit. I hold a Master’s in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University and a Bachelor’s in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic. In addition to my clinical training, I am a certified Hatha, Vinyasa Sadhana, and Kundalini yoga teacher and have trained as a Birth Doula as well as a Midwifery Assistant. These experiences bring a holistic, body-centered perspective to my work and reflect my belief that healing unfolds through both insight and embodied presence.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and evidence-based, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT) skills, ACT, mindfulness-based interventions, Solution-Focused, and strengths-based therapy.
If you’re feeling burnt out, stressed, anxious, or stuck, you’re not alone—and support is available. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to put your own needs last and gradually feel disconnected from yourself and others —until one day you wake up and wonder, “What happened?”
I work with adults seeking therapy for anxiety, perfectionism, women's health, depression, chronic illness, stress, burnout, substance use, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed space where you can process what’s hard, gain clarity, and build tools that actually work in your life.

The many pressures that teachers and other school professionals face often creates a work environment that is intensely stressful, and potentially traumatic for school employees. These factors also affect the parents and families of school-aged children. Given these realities, I enjoy working with educators, middle and high school students, and parents and families because the psychological health of the whole educational environment affects all of the parts. I'm also a strident believer in the power of communication as a tool for connecting, building resilience, and healing!

I draw from CBT, DBT and ACT, along with mindfulness practices.
Imagine someone who looks capable on the outside but feels overwhelmed inside. They may be living with anxiety or depression, struggling to follow through, stay organized, or make decisions, and feeling frustrated or ashamed by it. They may also be carrying grief—after a loss, a life change, or the quiet grief of becoming someone new. They want to feel calmer, more grounded, and more like themselves again. They’re seeking a space to be understood, to gain practical tools, and to explore deeper questions of meaning, purpose, and how to live with intention in this season of life. If this sounds like you, please reach out!

I believe that through collaboration with the therapist each person can find their true motivation and can navigate their way towards the change by using their inner resources and, if need be, through learning new skills. Be it an emotional challenge or upheaval, a relationship issue or stress, one should not have to do it alone and moving on in life can be possible.

A few experiences in my life have positively impacted my connection with others. A majority of my experience has been working in dual diagnosis facilities, which has provided me with considerable insight into mental health and substance abuse. Secondly, I worked as a special education teacher, gaining insight from both the parent’s and child’s perspective. Lastly, I am connected to the veterans community, having had numerous people in my life be in the military.

Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
