With 30 years of experience treating trauma and grief, I find that Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing provides relief more rapidly than traditional talk therapies. I see adults at my location in Campton, NH or via Telehealth to adults in NH. Clients usually have disproportionate disturbance (anxiety, grief, depression) in the present that was conditioned by negative experiences in the past. Clients with symptoms of Chronic Complex PTSD or Substance Use Disorder maintain treatment with a primary therapist and my services are an adjunct treatment as long as symptoms are stabilized.

Do you have past trauma that you still carry around despite your best efforts to cope? This trauma could be a single event, years of smaller incidents, a negative self- statement that's been with you forever, or a loss of some kind. Sometimes talk therapy doesn't actually solve the core issue and you continue to have overwhelming feelings when it comes up for you. I use a combination of EMDR, Brainspotting, and Parts Work to work on these core issues. This can be done as a stand-alone therapy or as an adjunct to talk therapy.

I work with clients to understand their own thinking processes and belief systems, to develop new coping strategies and learn new skills to interact with family and others interpersonally, and to make lifestyle adjustments to bolster internal psychological and coping resources. Making targeted changes in these areas leads to improvements in overall mood and well-being for families and individuals. I work with children and adolescents using tools that are engaging and interactive and take their developmental needs and abilities into account.

Supporting individuals toward their sense of wholeness is my therapeutic purpose. Every individual has their own journey; a path of unfolding understanding through their processes of the body, mind and emotion. My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning the whole being - one's body, emotion, cognition and the being's essence (spirit/soul) are important variables in the process of wellness and healing. When appropriate, and consent is given, therapeutic touch is a supportive modality to support the Client in accessing bodily held, maladaptive and traumatic experiences.

If you're feeling uncertain about whether or not to start therapy, please know that you are welcome here. So much of my work with clients is focused on getting to know the parts of us that have protected us for so long and are resistant to change. My work is based in the belief that people are generally doing the best they can with the knowledge and resources they have. It's important to me to honor the ways that even our "worst" coping skills have served us during challenging times. I seek to really understand where folks are in the present as well as what their goals are for the future.

My approach as a therapist is warm, authentic, and holistic - with a healthy dose of humor! I believe therapy should be tailored to fit the individual, and as such draw from a blend of techniques and modalities depending on the unique needs and nature of the client. Hello and Welcome! Everybody worries and feels anxious at times. But sometimes anxiety can become overwhelming and begin to take charge of your life. Without treatment you may start avoiding the things you want or need to do. It can also take control of a family’s structure. If you are feeling overwhelmed by worries, anxiety, ocd and/or depression, I can help! I work with adolescents and adults of any age who struggle with any of these mental health conditions.
