Finding meaning and fulfillment in life despite when challenges come your way is the goal! I provide telehealth and outdoor-based individual therapy for teens and adults, aged 12+, with a focus on ADHD, Autism, LGBTQ+ issues, gender-affirming care, and caregiver support.

I've been a Counselor for about a decade now. I specialize in toxic and abusive relationships. That could be with parents, a romantic partner, or friendships. The relationship between the counselor and the individual is key. It’s so important to have a trusting bond, so I will spend time getting to know you, as well as helping. I believe everyone has the power to promote change within themselves, but sometimes we all need a little guidance. What an awesome step you’ve made. I know it took courage! I offer a non-judgmental atmosphere because we're all people, and we all have pasts.

You may appear calm and put together, but inside you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from your relationships, your emotions, or even from yourself. Maybe you’ve learned to stay composed, avoid conflict, or prioritize others’ needs to maintain safety or connection. Over time, these survival strategies can lead to self-doubt, burnout, resentment, or a sense of losing who you truly are. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and relationship concerns, especially when these challenges are tied to earlier trauma or experiences of having to adapt in order to feel safe.

I consider it a privilege to be invited to walk alongside my clients and couples as they work through relational issues and navigate the stressors of life. Using an eclectic blend of therapeutic models, I work to create a treatment plan that helps clients work toward their goals in a way that deepens their sense of self and is in line with their personal values. This is my second career, and I believe my undergraduate degree in communications and previous roles working in TV News have also contributed to valuable life experience and communication skills that are helpful in guiding my work.

Since taking my first psychology course in high school, I knew that mental health counseling would be my career path. Understanding how trauma impacts the brain and how to unpack and adapt the information leading to a successful, functional life has always fascinated me. Since beginning my career in 2018, I have worked with at-risk youth and their families on many aspects of mental health including coping with trauma, stress, anxiety, problematic sexual behavior, parenting skills and positive communication.

Do you want long lasting and effective change? Did you know that hyper and/or hypo arousal of your autonomic nervous system due to developmental and other trauma can leave you feeling stuck? This is simply because words and willpower are not enough to make change. As a Christian psychotherapist, I have always believed that true healing happens when psychology, neuroscience, and faith work together. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of walking with clients through seasons of loss, anxiety, trauma, and relationship struggles - helping them rediscover the steady, loving presence of God within and around them.

These are the treatment types we use, including CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches.
Many people reach out when stress, conflict, or emotional distance starts to affect their relationships or daily life. I help individuals and couples gain clarity, strengthen communication, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. Stress, anxiety, relationship strain, life transitions, or substance-related concerns may be taking up more space than you want them to. You may be looking for support that feels practical, grounded, and actually helpful — not just talking in circles. If you’re motivated for change but not sure where to start, therapy can help you gain clarity, stability, and direction.

I support clients who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, often showing up as overthinking, feeling unsettled, or reacting instead of responding. In therapy, we'll explore where these patterns began, the roles they are played, and how to meet your needs in healthier ways so you can live more authentically. I also provide EMDR therapy to support trauma reprocessing and improve self-talk.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
