Native American
wisdom and experience.
Do any of the following resonate with you? You feel lost in life. You feel unable to do your day-to-day tasks. You've lost the happy moments you used to have in your life. You're struggling to motivate yourself to do anything. You wish you could just switch it all off and unplug from what's happening. If so, I'm here to help. Being in a state of mental pain and fustration can feel like you are getting ready to lose it. And sometimes you do. It can feel exhausting and emotionally draining. I was born and raised in Queens New York. I currently reside in Brooklyn. I’m not really a fan of the term African American because my lineage is a bit more complex than that. So I will say I’m an Afro-
Native American
and extremely proud of it. I attended Queens Borough Community College where I earned an Associates Degree in Science with a concentration in Preforming Arts to pursue a career as a Music Therapist. I then attended Long Island University Brooklyn and earned a Bachelors Degree In Psychology with a Minor In Sociology and Anthropology. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Alfred University.

Pornography addiction can significantly impact your life and relationships but there is hope for recovery. I’m not just a mental health professional, I’ve been “you” for many years. I understand firsthand the personal struggles in your life and committed relationships that come with uncontrollable pornography use. The endless stream of attractive women a few clicks away on Pornhub, Onlyfan or Social Media is hard to quit even with all your willpower and promise to quit for the sake of your relationship.

Clients often arrive at my door carrying it all on their backs wishing to make sense of their experiences, and their stories. They are uncertain of how they've gotten to be where they are. They wish to know themselves wholly. They wish to live deliberately and to know where they belong. They hope to trust themselves. They crave an authentic connection to self. They seek permission to rest. They long for freedom and to feel empowered when they look in the mirror. They have been through the thick of it, have had to become resilient and feel called to finally come home to themselves with love and gentleness.

I am an Indigenous (Laguna Pueblo) and Filipina therapist working with clients with histories of trauma, grief and loss, and establishing and growing healthy relationships. When you work with me, I allow you to set the tone of our therapy journey. Together, we explore what is the concern bringing you in and how you’d like it to be different in the future. Once we know where we’ve come from and where we are going, we can explore how we get there.

As a multi-cultural native New Yorker, I take pride in working with adults of all backgrounds. I've seen the toll that increased success and money can take on a person's relationships with others and with themselves. You may feel socially isolated, misunderstood by family and friends from your past, perhaps even guilt or shame for doing so well while at the same time feeling that your accomplishments aren't enough. I work with high-achievers and (often) new HNW individuals to gain acceptance of their successes and finally feel at peace.

Are you struggling to find fulfillment in some areas of your life? Are you worrying about the future? That you'll never be able to own a home? Reach financial stability? Have close relationships with family and friends? A romantic partner? Perhaps your work is leaving you with a feeling of purposelessness. You're a bright person with many goals, but you're unsure how to tackle them. Therapy can be a place to process the emotions surrounding these, process past trauma, reframe how you see yourself and reevaluate how you can take charge of your role in the things that happen around you. Things don't have to be the way they are now.

How can I find a therapist in New York?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
