I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of young adults and young professionals. I love working with others to find or create their own meaning and identity. Often this requires working on the issues that get in the way, like anxiety, depression, grief, or stress. Whether through a desire to change circumstances, improve self-compassion, or develop better relationships with important people, forming or changing your sense of self will be one of the most important experiences of your life.

As a child and family therapist, I specialize in child therapy helping children to cope with depression, anger, anxiety, school, social and behavioral problems, a divorce, a death, and other family issues. I am a parenting expert and help parents to understand their child's behavior and difficulties and teach them skills for communicating positively with their child. I provide couple and family counseling focused on strengthening family relationships and joint problem solving. Using a psychodynamic approach, I help adults to understand their own early childhood experiences, so they can overcome emotional roadblocks and communicate positively with other family members.

As a queer and nonbinary individual, I am passionate about working with and advocating for the queer and neurodiverse communities. I strive to provide my clients a safe, sensory-friendly, and creative space to work through life’s challenges with a provider with whom they know has shared experiences and extensive experience in providing affirming care. I also have advanced training in systemic oppression and multicultural therapy, and provide gender-affirming services, like letters of recommendation for HRT and gender affirming surgeries.

Life can leave us feeling overwhelmed, powerless, and alone, especially when you've been affected by trauma. Right now, you might feel frustrated, out of control and afraid that the patterns of the past will continue to repeat themselves. It might seem impossible to break free from the feelings of shame and self-blame weighing you down and feel understood when you try to explain to others how you really feel. If this sounds like where you find yourself today, I’m here to help you move forward and work with you to create the future that you have always deserved.

Do you feel stuck, despite being highly self-aware? Have you tried talk therapy before and it felt nice to vent, but it didn’t really create the transformation or deep healing and relief from anxiety you were looking for? I help millennial women like you by using a holistic approach to therapy. I combine EMDR therapy, art therapy, IFS therapy and somatic practices like nervous system regulation to heal at the root of your issues, discover what you want out of life, and create lasting changes. I also offer EMDR Intensives for those who want to heal NOW and don't want to spend months or even years in the traditional therapy model.

Many of us experience times in our life when difficulties arise in our close relationships or with life transitions, stirring feelings of anxiety, sadness, and fear. It can feel isolating and daunting to carry this burden alone, and hard to imagine that things will ever change. I understand that it takes courage to take the first step toward making positive changes in your life, and together, we will explore the difficult emotions and symptoms you are experiencing, gain clarity, and build awareness of old patterns and thought processes to develop new ways of living a more balanced and peaceful life.

Do you feel that life could be more joyful, more meaningful, more productive, more balanced - but don’t know how to access this elusive "more"? You may have had a hard time finding your footing after a big life event or transition. It's common to struggle with identifying and communicating about what you think, feel, want and need. You may feel disconnected from friends and family and don't know how to ask for or accept help. The more we try to cover up what we're struggling with, the more we feel alone and fear being "exposed." This can cause us to feel inauthentic, awkward or ashamed and we may experience anxiety and depression.

We may experience things in our lives that feel like they change who we are and our view of the world. As a result, we may feel loneliness, distrust, anger, sadness, numbness, shame, and guilt. We may not allow ourselves to experience the wide range of human emotions and limit our connection with others as a way to protect ourselves. I believe that people are resilient, able to heal from trauma, and can reconnect with their authentic, genuine selves.

Alcohol use disorder and addiction affect billions of lives. It is not weakness or a moral failure. It is an inevitable result of an interplay between stress/pain, substances, and our incredible but imperfect brains. I take my work in this area very seriously, but that doesn’t mean that the work itself needs to always be painfully serious. Any therapist falls somewhere on the spectrum between distant/detached observer to connected, authentic human being. I am very much on the latter end of the spectrum. Without feeling understood and “seen”, I don’t think a client can expect to get much out of therapy.

A clinical psychologist with experience in both hospital settings and private practice, I develop a compassionate and non-judgmental rapport with people. The course of treatment is never doctrinaire or pre-determined, but dependent on the patient's temperament, life history and goals. If a patient is seeking treatment that is more ruminative and exploratory: that's fine. If a patient feels that an active and problem solving therapy holds promise, that's fine too. The essential thread, across any particular approach, is to link the narrative of a patient's life to behavioral patterns and improved choices, which reduces anxiety and heightens fulfillment.
