My area of expertise is assessment, without which a diagnosis and treatment planning cannot be determined. Often, therapy or medication falls short because of poor or unclear diagnosis. I use my years of clinical and academic experience as well as a tailored, objective assessment to address: Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Depression, Anxiety and Bipolar Disorder. I perform Fitness of Duty evaluations for employment clearances such as NYPD, FDNY, and bariatric surgery. I also help families and the court system with forensic, child custody and special education litigation as an expert witness.

Hello, and welcome to my bio. Many therapists treat or manage symptoms - worry, sadness, anger, etc. - an approach that works for many people, but in a way that often provides temporary relief. As a holistic therapist, I focus more on the underlying factors - the things that motivate or influence the symptoms that people experience. I work with people who want to explore why they do the things they do and want to be more intentional and thoughtful in their decision-making, behavior, and relationships. I concentrate on developing a therapeutic relationship and cultivating a safe environment where the clients can share freely.

A unique and trusting bond established between a therapist and client creates a base from which the understanding and resolution of difficulties can emerge. The way you feel about your self, your life, your relationships and your pursuits can drastically change when the challenges you face feel overwhelming and out of control. We get through much of life's difficulties using our unique ability to cope. When our coping mechanisms start to feel as though they no longer work, that is the best time to seek help.

Feeling lost, stuck, or nothing at all? Wondering how you got to this point or how you can get past it? Let's start with this assumption: All people -at any point in time- are doing the best that they can with the resources available to them. Starting in infancy we develop ways to express our feelings and meet our needs, which can have a profound impact on how we interact with people and go through the world. Often skills that we developed at these early stages in our lives can become unhelpful as we transition to new stages. In therapy we can explore the question: “How is the past playing out in the present?” in a safe space.
