Hi there, my name is David Flores. I am a first-generation graduate student with a Hispanic-immigrant background. I began my own mental health journey during early adulthood when I started working with my own therapist.
I have navigated the difficult road of talking about my own mental health struggles while growing up in a Hispanic household. It is widely known there is an unwritten rule that says men are not supposed to feel depressed or anxious, much less express it.
