We assist clients in developing a clinical understanding of their emotions/behaviors in the context of their relationships with others. Assisting clients to understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and responses helps them gain control over themselves and their environment. When life happens, and we are in the midst of chaos, our brain gets stuck and begins to believe that there are no options available; but sometimes we need a push, an emotional support, or just someone to talk to, to help us un-knot the chaos in our mind with the essential problem-solving skills that we need to manage our lives properly.
We assist clients with life skills, anger management, anxiety, depression, self-esteem. We also offer therapy for the elderly population (65+), the underserved population that least likely to report receiving mental health care, despite common struggles with anxiety, depression, bereavement, social isolation, dementia, hopelessness, and transitions of aging.
My role at New Life Therapy, as a Marriage and Family Therapist is to create a relationship with my clients that is based on the three core conditions of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. I utilize methods to help clients toward self-discovery and self-awareness.
