New Life Counseling Center is a progressive and inclusive Christian counseling center in Mission Valley offering individual, couples, family and premarital counseling. Our therapists consist of both licensed Psychologists and Marriage & Family Therapists in addition to qualified Marriage & Family Therapist interns. Some of our therapists also have degrees from seminaries and some are ordained pastors. In addition to Christian counseling, we also see clients who have no religious or spiritual affiliation. We try and make NLCC a resource where anyone can seek support and find solutions to the issues they want addressed in a safe, comfortable and warm environment.
Our counseling center offers individual, couples and family counseling and we see children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Because we have several therapists who have different specialties and approaches, most every issue, circumstance and struggle can be accommodated and professionally addressed. Our therapists vary in age, specialization, treatment approach and background and because of this, there is a diverse pool from which to choose. New Life Counseling Center wants to be a resource for as many people in the community as possible. We accept many insurances, offer sliding scales and have registered interns for reduced fees. Our licensed therapists typically have a sliding scale between $150 - $85. In addition, we have a scholarship available for people who are uninsured or who have a high deductible they cannot meet. In this case, the client and therapist together decide on a co-pay that will not financially strain the client.
New Life Counseling Center is committed to help couples build solid relationships and strong marriages. We offer a comprehensive premarital counseling package to all couples. Our goal is to provide you and your partner with the insight and tools needed to navigate life together in a mutually respectful and satisfying way. We use the Prepare-Enrich premarital assessment program which helps increase a couple's understanding, closeness and intimacy and examines the relationship highlighting areas of strength and limitation. It also helps to improve communication and conflict resolution leading to increased marital satisfaction and a decreased risk of divorce. Included in premarital counseling is a copy of an assessment report for each person, a workbook for each person to utilize between sessions, and additional handouts.
