Having a “Beautiful Life” is something we all strive for, but at times life’s struggles get in the way. I feel honored and grateful to be invited into your heart as we begin the therapeutic process to your happiness. I will offer you a safe, nurturing, and loving environment that encourages a healing place where thoughts, feelings, and worries can be explored. During therapy session we will work together to help you find your true happiness, to trust your judgements with confidence, to manage and challenge limiting thoughts and beliefs, as you gain the skills and confidence to create the life you deserve and have dreamed of.

I utilize both cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques in my work with clients.
I know firsthand that searching for therapists and seeking supportive services can be very overwhelming both logistically and emotionally. I acknowledge the courage it takes to make a change and I am truly humbled and honored to work with you. By taking these first steps into therapy you are taking the initiative to live your best life and be the best version of yourself. I have been in the mental health field for ten years and I have worked in numerous settings including residential treatment facilities, public schools, private practices, and partial hospitalization programs.

Modalities I often use include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, assertive communication skills, mindfulness and stress reduction skills, motivational interviewing, health and wellness psychoeducation, and I am also eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) trained.
I believe the therapy relationship is sacred because it is a space to discuss anything- free of judgement. Therapy is a space to learn coping skills, process choices/events, clarify goals and the pathway to achieve them, manage life changes, move past trauma, or regain your voice. I am passionate about empowering individuals with the skills they need to minimize stress, maximize peace and joy, and identifying the pathway to health- honoring the best version of you. I have experience working with clients with codependence and family issues, anxiety/depression, self-care challenges, PTSD/ trauma, health issues, and hoarding.

I honor how deeply personal it is to invite another person into your family to discuss challenges you are having, which is why trust and collaboration are some of the most important parts of our work together. To see if I may be a good match for your child's or family's needs, I offer a free phone-consultation to discuss my approach to behavioral interventi

Is the behavior of a loved one or friend keeping you awake at night? Do well meaning people tell you to "detach" but you don't know how? Many people find themselves in this situation-a family member or loved one is drinking or drugging too much, and you feel helpless to help them. This situation causes many people to feel lonely, depressed, anxious, and hopeless. Psychotherapy can help you get your emotional life back despite the behavior of the people you love.

The complexity of the human experience can result in various forms of suffering and confusion. Together we can explore the variables in our lives and minds that either contribute towards disorder or growth and clarity. If we can ground ourselves in the present, in the non-judgemental space of an evidence-based therapeutic environment, we may find it easier to look clearly at the processes that underlie our daily life. If we can cultivate action from a point of awareness, we can work together to progress most effectively towards reaching the goals that one has for themselves.

Maybe you can see what's working for you right now or … perhaps what’s holding you back. Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, uncertain, grieving, fearful or angry ... is normal. But can often get in our way or even immobilize us. Being heard and seen by someone who joins with you in support is amazingly helpful. Using an integrated approach, we'll begin to shift toward real change for your sense of self, relationships, career, school, dating, family, life-direction and quality of everyday life and well-being. Those I work with express feeling better soon after our first session... and begin to feel more ease, support, confidence, calm.

Are you lost in your reactions and emotions and feel like life is “unraveling”? It takes a lot of strength and courage to seek help. Taking that first step to therapy can feel difficult, uncomfortable, and even downright scary. All these feelings are common. My goal is to provide a safe environment to begin the healing process. Early life experiences shape how we view the world, ourselves, our thoughts, and behaviors. Over time old patterns that once helped protect us are no longer useful and can cause disruption in our lives and interfere with developing meaningful relationships.

Don’t you wish life came with a handbook on how to do it right? Me too. Instead, society expects you to know how to manage feelings of despair, fear, guilt, anxiety, isolation, trauma, hopelessness, and doubt while also dealing with family, friends, relationships, careers, health, and social norms. It’s easy for mental health to take a backseat when you're trying to focus on everything else. You want to move towards the life that you want, and you realize that you need some help getting there. Keep going. You got this. You just need a safe, supportive place to be who you are and work some things out that may be holding you back.

Anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues can show up in our relationships. Relationships are key to a healthy psyche - those with ourselves, friends, family, co-workers, and partners. Often times, one or more of those relationships aren't going how we want them to, potentially because of underlying issues in ourselves, or in them. I can help you address the underlying causes so that your life feels more joyful, smooth, and aligned with your desires. I know I can help you because I've helped heal hundreds experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship issues, including myself.

I am interested in identifying and drawing on your inherent strengths-believing we all have our own answers but sometimes need help uncovering them. I love working with people who want to change, who want to look at meaning and develop an ability to connect with greater purpose--to others, to work, to the world itself. I can help with anxiety, depression, addictive behaviors (i.e., substances, food, work), life transitions, work issues, mid-life and other challenging experiences, including grief and relationship issues.

In my experience as a therapist, I find that many people are looking for someone who will provide a safe space to talk, listen, and support them. My goal is to provide children, preteens/tweens, adolescents/teenagers, adults, and elders, as well as, families and couples with the skills and tools to help them reach their own personal goals. With these skills, you will become a better communicator, develop confidence, and utilize positive responses to daily life problems.

Teletherapy
Teletherapy and Online counseling have grown enormously as a medium for therapy since the advent of social distancing. Most therapists are happy to provide sessions by video or phone.

All professionals are licensed to provide video therapy to clients within the State in which they hold their license. Cross State licensing exists, but is rare.

So if you're a client in New Jersey, this list of teletherapists are licensed to provide therapy to you online (by phone, video or text based chat) because they are within your state. They are sorted nearest to furthest, with professionals in New Jersey listed first.

Teletherapy via phone or video can be very similar to conventional in person sessions. The message is the same, even if the medium is different. There are some advantages in the form of convenience, lack of travel and being in comfort of your own home. Set against those, professionals find it more difficult to read non-verbal signals of their clients, and you may find you yourself can be more easily distracted.
