Our clinic provides treatments such as Psychoanalysis, CBT, EMDR, DBT, EFT and specialize in problems related to Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Marriage/Couples, Addiction, Hoarding, Food Disorders, and Grief.
Healthy is Wealth! Stress is a normal part of life caused by the challenges we face everyday. But when these challenges become overwhelming and lead to excessive crying, sadness, anxiousness, fatigue, or triggers us to abuse food, alcohol, drugs, or engage in risky activities, then it’s time to seek professional help. Negative thoughts/behaviors are our body's "alarm system" that informs us something's wrong and needs our attention. Left untreated, mental health problems can wreak havoc on our mind and body. Let's talk and see what's going on.

These conditions are extremely treatable with the RIGHT kind of DRUG-FREE CBT Exposure therapy. I aim to eliminate symptoms, not just treat or manage them. TELEHEALTH AVAILABLE! Does nothing relieve your obsessive thoughts, panic attacks, or anxiety? Come explore the latest innovations in emotional healing. Most psychotherapy methods rely upon talking, but talking alone is not always enough. The most effective procedures bypass the talking process and meet emotional needs at a deeper level. By addressing core emotional needs with non-touch, body-oriented procedures in conjunction with counseling, my approach offers direct access to the healthy person inside. I enjoy discovering the real person behind the emotional problems.

Change is often initiated when the discomfort from pain is worse than the discomfort from fear of change. People can embrace their resiliencies and connect to a sense of purpose in order to overcome that fear. The act of reaching out for help is a courageous first step.

Hoarding Therapists

What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?

Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?

The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?

Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
