I currently treat children , adolescents, adults and couples.
I view psychotherapy as a collaboration aimed at fostering greater self understanding while working toward personal change and symptom reduction. I strive to help my patients reach greater fulfillment in their lives by fostering understanding of the interpersonal patterns and unresolved personal, life and/or relationship issues that contribute to the challenges they face.

Whether you are a child , adult, first responder, or student, we can all heal! Let me help you!.
I believe in the power of healing and the ability of everyone to be able to overcome trauma and adversity. Having previously served in the military and first responder, and now as a school counselor for children , I am dedicated to the service of others with a humanistic, person-centered, and strengths-based approach. My passion is in helping others heal from the effects of trauma and the many other obstacles that life will present. Often times the hardest step is the first step. With a soft voice, compassion, understanding, and acceptance, I want to take that first step with you and empower you to find strength and resilience.

I am accepting new clients! I work with individuals, children , and families who may be experiencing stress, feeling disconnected in their relationships, or facing challenges within their family. These and other similar life challenges can be very uncomfortable experiences and difficult to manage alone. Together, we can develop effective skills to manage stressful thoughts and feelings, increase self-awareness, and simply enjoy relationships with those most important in your life.

Adolescence can be such a challenging time for parents. Your child may be anxious, spending a lot of time alone in his/her room, prone to outbursts (whether angry or sad or both), unable to fall asleep easily at night, and appear to not like him/herself anymore. The search for answers or help may seem overwhelming; instead of "there's no manual out there" it seems as though there are way too many. That's why I am a huge proponent of therapy for adolescents. It provides a safe and supportive place for them to reflect on their experiences. They also learn concrete coping skills to manage both internal and external stressors.

I see children , adults, couples and families.
I find that a client is best served when they are listened to, validated, but also challenged to make positive change. That is why I take a cognitive behavioral approach to the counseling I do. Whether the client is a child or adult we all have the ability to learn from the past and make different choices for the future.

Are you struggling to figure out your place in the world? No one seems to understand? School is not working for you, you aren't getting along with your family, you and your spouse or ex-partner aren't on the same page when it comes to raising the children , or you aren't able to decide how to move forward in your life? There are no easy answers to these problems and sometimes it is helpful to have someone you can talk to who is there just for you.

Teens, elders, young children and adults have the ability to address trauma, life transitions, sexuality/gender issues, relationships and more.
How can I be of service to you? My ideal client is a person who is focused on growth and healing in their life, on their terms. As your therapist, I want to provide a space for you to process your thoughts and feelings without judgement. While many people see therapy as a one-sided effort where a therapist dictates solutions to problems, I like to approach therapy as a partnership in which we determine your goals and create a path toward them that feels reasonable and obtainable. Beginning this journey can be intimidating but you've already taken the first step. Give me a call today! *Available for sessions beginning April 2022*

I see clients of all ages with a variety of needs, my current practice is approximately 50/50 with adults and children who are struggling with anxiety, issues of adjustment, general emotional discomfort, and children with behavioral concerns. In my practice with children , I work closely with parents. I work to develop a comfortable rapport focusing on strengths and supports available to your child . I begin the process by meeting with both parents so that I may learn about your child through your eyes and better understand how the concerns are impacting your child .

Not accepting new folks at this time: I have met and worked successfully with adults, children and their families in the midst of their own unique life transitions caused by divorce and /or remarriage, death of loved one(s), career upheaval, children leaving home, and military deployment and reintegration. During these times people arrive worried or frightened, angry, confused and in search of meaning. We develop a path to understanding: their feelings and beliefs about change, the symptoms they are experiencing and how to manage and reduce them, and coming to an understanding about how life can be familiar and satisfying again.

What type of New Hampshire mental health professional is right for me?
While most types of therapy have a lot in common, they also fall into clusters that share core features, such as cognitive therapies or psychodynamic approaches. It is important to seek someone who practices evidence-based therapy, meaning one or more forms of treatment that have been scientifically evaluated and tested, and demonstrate consistent improvement for a majority of patients.

If you are unsure about choosing the right therapist, it might be useful to first learn more about therapy types and modalities.
How to find a therapist in New Hampshire?
When looking to find a therapist, it is certainly important to consider training and credentials. Studies also indicate that the therapeutic alliance, or the relationship the client develops with the therapist, is an important factor in their ability to work together to achieve the client’s goals.

What method of therapy is right for me?
When it comes to treatment methods, there's no 'right way.’ Each method of therapy can be beneficial for a variety of issues. Finding a psychologist or therapist who is a good fit for you is the most important step to discovering what type of therapy, or combination of therapeutic approaches, will meet your individual needs. Learn what to expect from different types of therapy and how they work.

How to use my insurance?
Understanding cost and insurance coverage is an important concern for many people. With some basic research and conversations with prospective therapists, you should be able to have a good understanding of the best way to afford therapy.
