I believe my effectiveness is attributed to an empathic attitude in understanding an individual while working with them to heal, grow, and ultimately change self-defeating thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I am a teacher at heart, so my style is highly interactive and solution-oriented. To most effectively meet the needs of all individuals, I practice an integrative approach drawing from Psychodynamic, Family Systems, Imago, Gestalt, and Cognitive-Behavioral models. Areas of emphasis include interpersonal relationship issues, addictions/codependency, family of origin/ACOA issues, boundaries, anxiety/stress/depression, conflict resolution, trauma/emotional healing, and personal/spiritual growth.
Most relationship problems, whether with a mate, co-worker, or child, begin in our family of origin. Individuals with addictions are codependent and have limited internal and external boundaries. A limited ability to set appropriate boundaries, and self-defeating thoughts, emotions and behaviors, can be a major reason for anxiety.
