In the settings I passionately engage in: ambulance, hospital, and community, how does a healthcare provider inform, educate, and support an individual who is neurotypical or neurodivergent experiencing a mental health episode?
Having used the medical and wellness models approach, one can say it is designed for individuals who are neurotypical. For individuals who are neurodivergent, it is crucial to determine and effectively utilize the appropriate treatment.
My purpose is to continuously gain knowledge, have awareness, and realize how to make a difference tailored to specific individuals’ needs.
Whether individuals are neurotypical or neurodivergent, the result is to make individuals feel seen, secure, and satisfied in having made such a difficult first decision to seek help.
I am the type of Mental Health provider that meets the needs of individuals, and inspires other healthcare providers to be the same - expanding their models and perceptions to individual care.
