" My areas of focus are Personality Disorders- specifically Borderline PD and Narcissistic PD, and trauma/PTSD.
I am an EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist, which is an evidenced based treatment for PTSD, trauma, and countless other issues. At times, talk therapy may not be enough to address what you are going through. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in how EMDR may help in advancing your treatment.

I believe we all need help from time to time, and I believe that often times the strengths lie within those whom seek and accept help. I know we all have strengths and capabilities to overcome our personal, family, and community challenges and struggles which we face in our daily lives. I also believe therapy helps people discover the strengths they have within themselves and, as they apply the suggestions and teachings while utilizing recommended community resources, through therapy life becomes bearable.

My passion is to help clients become their "best self". This starts with what we tell ourselves everyday. We are what we think! Therapy is a process in which we can begin to feel relief from that negative self talk and move towards wholeness and connection. Evidence shows that therapy can help to bring about more peace, joy, and functioning to your life. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I can help you feel less alone and start thinking differently about the issues that have been holding you back. I want to know how you arrived at this place in your life. I want to help you find your way back to peace and happiness.

So many people have the same complaints about therapy. Either the therapist only listens with little guidance, or you walk out feeling great, but it doesn't last. So what is it that's missing? Unfortunately, much of therapy today doesn't attack the problem at its core. Therefore, the plug is never pulled on those negative, repetitive, and destructive habits and feelings that drive us from behind the scenes. I have developed a unique, neuroscience based set of techniques to address those issues so you can be free to choose how you want to feel & behave, and live the life you truly desire.

Are you struggling with alcohol? Do you need help getting back on track? Together we can figure out what your substance use goals are (reducing damage, decreasing frequency, sobriety, etc.) and make a plan to help you reach that goal. Then, we can gain a better understanding of what leads to self-medicating in the first place to help you gain control over it.

You might be coming to therapy because you’re feeling anxious, burned out, disconnected in your relationships, depressed, struggling with eating or other coping habits, or just sensing that something’s “off.” What feels urgent on the surface is often connected to deeper patterns shaped by early experiences. Over time, you may have adapted—becoming overly responsible, guarded, perfectionistic, or stuck in roles you never consciously chose.Therapy creates space to untangle those patterns and move forward with more clarity. Through therapy, we can create space to untangle those patterns and help you move forward with more clarity.

I specialize in working with clients from marginalized backgrounds, including those impacted by substance use, justice system involvement, and interpersonal violence. Many of my clients are navigating the aftermath of difficult experiences and looking for new ways to live in the world without having to be in "survival mode". They often carry trauma, anxiety, or shame and are looking for a space where they will be treated with compassion rather than judgement. My clients often hope to build a sense of connection, both with themselves and the world around them. Healing, for them, isn't about perfection, it's about finding safety.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?

By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?

Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?

It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
