I engage in therapeutic strategies including solution-focused CBT, neurofeedback, accelerated resolution therapy (ART), Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and mindfulness.
Every person will encounter difficult obstacles in life, but your past or current struggles do not have to define your future. I have devoted my life to empowering people experiencing anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress, and other issues, helping them find long-term solutions. I provide therapy in a non-judgmental, supportive space with the goal that you will recognize your value and capacity for wholeness regardless of what holds you back today.

The brain is connected to ALL your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors AND can be changed! I provide counseling but also have over a decade of experience with Neurofeedback, a tool to help the communication code that occurs in the brain, rewire, and strengthen neuronal connections to lower anxiety, depression, and improve attention, sleep, and memory.
Counseling is not about getting advice. It's about processing what you have going on and figuring out how to take next steps in the places of life where you feel stuck, discouraged, sad, or lost. Counseling is about having someone there with you to help you sort things out, support you, and even sometimes challenge you to move forward with your goals. I use brain-based research and easy-to-use tools to work with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, and age-related issues.

I have recently undergone training in Neurofeedback and am being mentored as I grow in this field.
Todd and his wife Adelita are active members of First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas. They have two children, Avery & Aleksandra. Both he and his wife enjoy both indoor and sand volleyball, tennis, being outdoors, and working on the house. They value both friends and family and enjoy the opportunity to spend time with them. And, of course, they enjoy spending very valuable time with their blessed children.

Neurofeedback is utilized for helping with long-term brain issues such as ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Substance Abuse, OCD, as well as Athletic Performance Enhancement, Peak Performance for Executives, business and school performance.
My behavioral health work began in 1988, with adolescents and their families, branching into extremely effective work with addictions and couples counseling. I am trained in EMDR & Brainspotting (BSP), a very fast paced healing process for all types of trauma, PTSD, abuse issues, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, grief issues and cravings. I work most quickly with athletes suffering from mental blocks, injuries and other issues inhibiting performance even though the injury is completely healed. Many of my athletic clients have completed in just a two hour session.

I assist my clients with various therapeutic approaches, including a combination of cognitive behavioral, strength based/solution focused, client centered, EMDR, Brainspotting and Neurofeedback brain training.
Experiencing hurdles in life such as challenging relationships, family life issues and concerns about the direction of your career are normal, but can leave you feeling anxious, depressed, frustrated or angry. So many of our problems come down to not having enough insight into how our minds work; what we want, what we fear, why we act the way we do, and why we are overwhelmed by certain feelings. I believe that every person who seeks counseling has their own answers to their unique situations and my job is to facilitate finding those answers.

Are you looking for faith-filled counseling that is biblically based? I offer a unique approach to therapy by seeking real transformation from the (spiritual) inside, out. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, filtered through a biblical lens- seeking to align core beliefs with biblical truths. Sometimes we need prayer and counsel to reveal truths that may be hidden or difficult to see. Having a counselor who is experienced in getting to the root of a belief can be an essential first step on the path to transformation.

While I work with many different disorders, I specialize in helping neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with ADHD and Autism. I am neurodivergent myself and understand the unique challenges that come with being Neurodivergent. Often those of us who are neurodivergent have had the focus of our treatment on our symptoms, such as anxiety or depression for example. My goal is to work with my clients and go deeper than just helping with the symptoms. I want my clients to come to a place of acceptance of who they are and utilize their strengths to overcome their obstacles.

I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and groups as we work together to free ourselves from the struggles and suffering that keep us from living our life to the fullest. At times our lives can feel unmanageable. Trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, unhealthy cycles, addictions, and other areas of our mental health can keep us stuck and unable to move forward freely. We start to lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel of our suffering. I am here to walk alongside you as we move toward that light. Through counseling, these issues can be addressed and freedom is possible as we work together!

Therapy is a place to be seen and known and invited to heal. A collaborative and safe environment paves the way to grow, accept challenges, and move toward lasting change. A therapist sits in the hard places with clients and equips and empowers them to reach their goals.

Your teenager is yelling at you and you find yourself yelling back at them - again. When she isn’t angry at you, she is sulking or hiding in her bedroom, ears and mind tuned out with music and video games. You wish you felt closer to your teen and less frustrated with her. Is she carrying a heavy burden you don’t know about or just being a teenager with attitude? You just don't know how to help her.

Neurofeedback Therapists

How does neurofeedback work?

Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback, meaning it provides real-time information about one’s physiological functions—in this case, brain activity. As they receive this feedback, clients are guided by a computer program, typically via visual or auditory cues, which aims to modify the brain patterns associated with their negative symptoms. Over time, proponents argue, clients learn how to better regulate their own brain function and improve the symptoms that cause problems in day-to-day life.

How effective is neurofeedback?

Some research has found that neurofeedback can help treat conditions like ADHD, and anecdotal evidence suggests that many people who undergo neurofeedback find it beneficial. However, some experts have expressed skepticism, arguing that the evidence in favor of neurofeedback is thin or may be due to the placebo effect. While the procedure is generally seen as safe and has few side effects, it is not typically considered a first-line therapy and is instead often recommended as an adjunct treatment.

What are the limitations of neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is generally considered safe and most patients report manageable side effects, or none at all. However, the research on neurofeedback remains inconclusive, and some experts are skeptical that it’s as effective as its proponents claim. It can also be costly and may not be covered by insurance; thus, it’s important to confirm cost and insurance coverage before initiating a neurofeedback program.

How long does neurofeedback last?

A typical neurofeedback session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. There is no set number of sessions needed for a course of neurofeedback. Before initiating a neurofeedback regimen, clients are advised to discuss the treatment timeline with their provider, as well as when they might expect to see results.
