In this consultation you will learn if an evaluation is necessary after review of school reports, previous testing, and personal history. The evaluator can tease out, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and Autism and will provide additional information and any referrals and information necessary to enable you to make an informed decision moving forward. Dissociation & Psychosis Consultation
Psychosis is a condition where an individual experiences hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thoughts and speech. Dissociation is when an individual feels detached from their immediate surroundings. Psychosis & dissociation are complex. Common causes of acute psychosis & dissociation are experienced when there are high levels of acute stress, however, can be through illicit drug use and prescribed medication. Unfortunately, many are misdiagnosed, which interfere with an appropriate treatment plan. These unfortunate misdiagnoses increase psychosis and dissociative symptoms, hence causing extreme family distress. This service is an introduction into what psychosis and dissociation are, and a safe space to problem-solve difficulties, and gain an awareness.
